Kura-Kura Bus is proud to launch its first all-inclusive tour, the DENPASAR CITY TOUR. The full-day tour takes visitors to Bali’s capital city, Denpasar, where they can explore some of the city’s most popular attractions and activities.
Operating two times a week, the DENPASAR CITY TOUR uses modern buses equipped with air-conditioning and free onboard WiFi. There’s also electric power points to charge your devices while on the go!
DFS Bus Bay
The tour starts at DFS Bus Bay in Kuta. Guests may travel free of charge on Kura-Kura Bus (excl. Seminyak Line & Ubud Line) to DFS Bus Bay to begin the tour. Free travel only applies to buses arriving before 10am, and for all departures from DFS Bus Bay after the tour normal fares will apply.
For guests in the Sanur area, it’s possible to join the tour at the Gallery Coffee bus stop on Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai. Please indicate at time of booking if you want to join the tour at DFS Bus Bay in Kuta or at Gallery Coffee in Sanur.
The first stop on the tour is at Bajra Sandhi (Bali Monument) in Renon. This giant monument depicts the history of Bali and honors the Hero of the Puputan War.
The main building is divided into three floors and includes 33 dioramas starting with the Balinese kingdom and the introduction of Hinduism, all the way to present day.
Lunch @ Bendega Restaurant
After Bajra Sandhi the tour stops at popular Denpasar restaurant Bendega for authentic Balinese lunch. The group is also invited to watch a traditional Balinese dance performance, held on the restaurant’s outdoor stage.
The tour then heads to Museum Bali which features over 10,000 exhibits of Balinese art, displayed in four different pavilions. It’s also here at the museum where the group can take part in a Balinese dance lesson.
Just a few minutes’ walk from Muesem Bali is Pura Jagatnatha, the biggest Hindu temple in Denpasar. Dedicated to the supreme god, Sanghyang Widi, the temple is made out of white coral and features walls decorated with various carvings and scenes from traditional stories.
Puri Jro Kuta
It’s back on the bus and on to Puri Jro Kuta, a former royal palace located 1 km west of central Denpasar. Here, visitors can also see the age-old tradition of hand-weaving on wooden looms.
Pasar Badung is the largest traditional market in Denpasar and it’s here where the locals go to buy fresh produce, meat, fish, spices and textiles amongst other things. The market is spread across three floors and is open 24 hours a day.
The last stop on the tour is Kumbasari Market, located just across the river from Pasar Badung. This market is jam-packed with souvenirs, paintings, wooden sculptures, clothing and fabrics.
After Kumbasari Market, the tour returns to DFS Bus Bay via McDonalds Sanur, where Sanur guests can get off.
