This year, Bali’s Nyepi (Day of Silence) falls on Saturday 21 March. Nyepi is a public holiday in Indonesia, and in Bali the entire island shuts down for 24 hours. From 6 am until 6 am the following day, no-one is allowed outside of their homes, there are no cars or bikes on the roads and even the airport is closed. The day before Nyepi, the main street of villages are closed and parades are held. Statues made of bamboo and paper known as ogoh-ogoh are carried through the village and then later burned. Yesterday we announced the opening of the South Nusa Dua Line and today we have a few more updates to Kura-Kura Bus. Ubud Line : New bus stops added We’ve added 2 new bus stops to our popular Ubud Line which starts at DFS Bus Bay in Kuta. The first stop is at Gallery Coffee on Jl. Bypass Ngura Rai in Sanur. The bus then continues on to Plataran Resort and Puri Lukisan in Ubud. As the year draws to a close the island of Bali gets even busier, with both domestic and foreign visitors arriving to celebrate the new year. It’s an already popular time as many families are visiting over the Christmas school break.
