A promotional video for Kura Kura Bus was shot recently over four days, from 8 to 11 May 2014. The video shoot took place across the island, at popular tourist attractions and in each area the bus operates in.
DFS Bus Terminal
The main DFS Bus Terminal is located at DFS Galleria, at the Simpang Siur intersection in Kuta.
It was a hot day, and we were very grateful for all the models and Kuramon’s efforts!
Nusa Dua
In the resort area of Nusa Dua, the Kura Kura bus stop is located in front of the lobby at the popular Grand Hyatt hotel.
Nusa Dua Beach is peaceful and quiet, with restaurants and upmarket resorts lining the shore.
Jimbaran
Next stop was the popular Rock Bar at the Ayana Resort. The Rock Bar is recommended by many guide books and gets very busy, especially around sunset time. It’s best to get there early to avoid the queue.
Jimbaran Beach is most well known for the many beachfront BBQ restaurants. The area gets crowded with visiting tourists and locals alike who come to enjoy the sunset views and relaxed atmosphere.
Sanur
On to Sanur, and our bus stop at Taksu Hotel. This bus stop is located towards the southern end of Sanur, but still within walking distance from the main road of Jl. Danau Tamblingan. Bali Bakery is scheduled to open on the first floor of the hotel soon.
Sanur Beach is popular at sunset with young locals and visiting tourists who come to enjoy the relaxed setting. A walk along the beachfront promenade is a great way to soak up the atmosphere.
Kuta / Legian
Tourists from all around the world gather at Bali’s famous Kuta Beach to swim, surf or simply relax. Pantai Kuta is the name of the street that runs parallel to the beach that is lined with hotels, local clothing stalls and a new shopping center.
Beachwalk shopping center is conveniently situated across the road from Kuta Beach. Popular brands including GAP, Victoria’s Secret and Zara share space alongside restaurants and cafes.
Located on the third floor, the new Alang-Alang at Beachwalk offers a collection of fashion and goods made across Indonesia.
Then it was off to Bintang Supermarket, a popular landmark on Seminyak’s main street. The Kura Kura bus stop is located just in front of the Bintang Noodle Shop, in the parking area of the supermarket.
Seminyak
Our buses also stop at Seminyak Square on Oberoi Street. Here you can happily shop at fashion boutiques and homeware stores, or find some casual beachwear at the outdoor market located in the parking area.
Take a break at Bali Bakery and enjoy a refreshing drink.
Seminyak Beach is a 15-minute walk from Seminyak Square. Tourists visit the beachfront restaurants here to enjoy a sunset cocktail or evening dinner.
Ubud
Then it was on to Ubud, and the Puri Lukisan Museum on Jl. Raya Ubud. The Kura Kura bus stop is located just in front of this famous museum.
A trip to Ubud wouldn’t be complete without visiting the sacred Monkey Forest. Hundreds of monkeys call this cool, shaded forest home, and visitors can even feed them if they dare.
Shooting had to be done by hand here as the monkeys move too fast for a tripod!
Our last stop was the famous Tegallalang Rice Terrace. Here you can enjoy the breathtaking rice field views Bali is so well known for.
Take a wander around the local craft stalls or have a drink at one of the little cafes that enjoy magnificent views of the rice terraces below.
